First checks when a thermal label comes out blank
Blank labels are usually a stock or print-path problem, not a cropping problem. Start with the roll direction and the type of label stock before changing carrier, marketplace or PDF settings.
Direct thermal printers need direct thermal labels. If the roll is upside down or the stock is not heat-sensitive, the printer can feed perfectly and still put no visible ink on the label.
- Scratch the label surface and check that it turns dark.
- Flip the roll if only the backing side faces the print head.
- Close the lid fully so the print head contacts the stock.
- Use the correct 4x6, 6x4 or 100x150mm media preset.
Use the self-test before editing the PDF
